This church bookkeeping accounting tutorial provides instruction on the ChurchBooks3 CheckBook or church ledger module. ChurchBooks3 maintains a running total of outgoing expenditures while providing the type reports you need. Church accounting software plays an important role in the infrastructure of your church, ensuring you have clear records of all your finances, and that your staff gets paid.

Some Churches have different needs

Churches have different financial needs and responsibilities than businesses, which is where this specialized software is most helpful. This software has two reports, a detailed report, and a summary report.
You can add a transaction or an account note by clicking the notes button.

For a quick review of account totals, click the totals button for any account. On the accounts, that you would like to budget, enter an annual set amount for the year then click update. A comparison between the actual amount in the ledger and the set amount is displayed in this area. The green color indicates below budget while the red color indicates that the account is over budget.

Designed for Churches

Church Ledger is accessible wherever there’s an Internet connection. Whether your church treasurer is on your paid staff or a volunteer working from home, they can access your database anytime, anywhere.

To view your report, click the view report button. If you are also handling the banking, click the Bank button.

Straightforward Reporting

Available reports include the general ledger, income and expense reports, a chart of accounts, and balance sheets. All reports can be exported to Excel and printed.

You can also review any past service by changing the query. To review the actual coin count, click the re-count button. And the associated Bank sheet.
